How to Use FlickrSync for Automatic Photo Backups Flickr is a great place to store your photos. It gives you lots of space for free. But saving your photos one by one takes a long time.
FlickrSync is a free tool that helps you. It uploads your photos from your computer to Flickr automatically. Here is how to set it up and use it. What is FlickrSync?
FlickrSync is a small program for your Windows computer. It looks at the photo folders on your hard drive. When you add new photos to those folders, FlickrSync copies them to your Flickr account. You do not have to click upload every time. Step 1: Download and Install First, you need to get the program on your computer. Open your web browser. Search for the latest version of FlickrSync. Download the setup file.
Open the file and follow the steps on your screen to install it. Step 2: Link Your Flickr Account
Next, you must give the program permission to talk to your Flickr account. Open FlickrSync. Click on the Tools menu and choose Options. Click the button that says Authorize.
A web page will open. Log into your Flickr account if you are not already. Click Allow to let FlickrSync upload photos for you. Go back to the FlickrSync program and click Complete. Step 3: Choose Your Photo Folders
Now, tell the program which folders on your computer have your photos. Click the Add Folder button in FlickrSync.
Find the folder on your computer where you keep your pictures. Select that folder.
Choose how you want FlickrSync to handle this folder. You can tell it to make a new “Album” or “Set” on Flickr with the same name as your folder. Step 4: Set Your Privacy Rules You can decide who sees your photos. Look at the sync settings for your folder.
Set the photos to Private if you only want them as a backup for yourself.
Set them to Public if you want friends, family, or the world to see them. Step 5: Start the Backup Once everything looks good, you are ready to sync. Click the Sync button.
FlickrSync will look at your computer folder and your Flickr account. It will find all the photos that are missing from Flickr. The program will start uploading them one by one.
In the future, you can just open FlickrSync and click sync. It will only upload the new pictures you took since the last backup. This saves you a lot of time!
